A Raleigh General Hospital incident left a three year old boy, Ricky Dean Fortner, with a possible skull fracture after a fall down ten concrete steps. His father, Thomas Fortner, an Army veteran and Beckley VA Hospital aide, fainted while carrying Ricky into the waiting room and was treated first. Ricky was examined by Dr. G. C.
