Nurse Gertrude Stinnett Dies After Hilltop Crash
Miss Gertrude Stinnett a 30 year old nurse died in Oak Hill hospital after being struck on Hilltop road by a car driven by Assistant Chief Ray Simms. She previously worked at Spencer hospital and was visiting her parents in Hilltop. Surviving are her parents three brothers and four sisters. Funeral at Harvey church Sunday at 2:30 with burial in Highlawn Cemetery.

Miner Hurt by Falling Timber in Coal City Incident
Glen White-W. C. Dehart, a miner employed here and resident of Coal City, was struck on the right side of the head by a mine timber Tuesday night. He suffered a two inch head laceration but escaped serious injury.

State police arrested two 23 year old men near Shady Spring last night on charges of breaking and entering. They were held for Montgomery officers Will and Frank Thurman who gave Pineville Tennessee as their home address. The men were hitch-hiking as the officers arrived.

Akron bus drivers and street car operators walked off the job leaving 300,000 residents without service. A picket line formed near the barns and no vehicles were available.
