Forest Fires Hit In Area Rain Needed
CHARLESTON (UPI) Four forest fires were reported by noon in Mingo County and nearby areas as the State Forestry Department warned of dangerous conditions. Forester A W Kelly said a blaze began this morning and noted a patrol plane spotted a man setting fires on the Mingo Lincoln County line. Winds remained high and showers were hoped for to curb fires. Citizens were urged not to burn trash while conditions stayed dry and windy.

Rose Mary 28 was born January 6 1943 in Tennessee and Wanda Rose 5 months was born November 1 1968 in Cleveland Ohio. The family’s survivors include parents siblings and grandparents and additional survivors include his wife and others. Friends may call Tyree Funeral Home Mount Hope after 5 p m today and the body will be taken to the church one hour before services. The Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel holds the body for viewing after 3 p m Friday.

13-Year-Old Killed In WV Highway Crash
Eddie Mack Davis, 13, of Leckie was killed when a car veered off a roadway on West Virginia 102 near the McDowell County community. Driver Clarence Winebarter, 16, of Leckie, was charged with driving without an operator's license.
