No Agreement in Ball Park Strike Reached
Charleston contractors refused to comment on union offers to finish the ball park without contractor aid. The Building Trades Council urged Kuhn Construction to quit the balance of the contract, while the union promised completion at no extra city or taxpayer cost. The union sought retroactive wage adjustments if higher rates arose. The nearly finished ball park must be ready by April 27 for Central League play, as a general building strike remains deadlocked.
