Walker, removed as head of the 24th Infantry Division in Germany, resigned from the Army and seeks the Democratic gubernatorial nomination in Texas. He criticized Defense Secretary McNamara and Overseas Weekly, and described himself as a victim of a now in policy in the cold war. He identified himself to the committee as Mr Edwin A Walker and urged to be addressed as Mister.

Chemical Truck Explosion Kills Four Firemen
NORWICH Conn UPT four veteran firemen died answering an alarm at the Van Tassel Co warehouse after a chemical laden truck exploded leveling the building and scattering debris. The victims Capt William Sheridan Carl Burke Edward Romano and Leonard Counihan were killed instantly. MEK bottle ignition cited as possible cause. Two other firemen a policeman and two workers injured the blast destroyed two trucks and released chemicals and charcoal across a wide area. Major Carroll Shaw said MEK is easily ignited by friction or heat.
