Dr C I Hay born Norwich New York March 12 1821 practiced medicine in Muscatine Iowa and Tazewell Illinois. He edited the defersatian in Galena and later the Evening Post in Chicago with Republican views. He died after brain disease at age under fifty, mourned as a fearless advocate of human rights and a civic leader.
