In New York on September 14 reports say County Auditor Watson left behind a large manuscript detailing the Tammany ring’s thefts including amounts, dates, and recipients. Ex Comptroller Connolly secured the book and later handed it to a trusted holder who will protect it. it is expected to be produced at the Tweed trial to secure convictions.
