A September meeting at Mount Verney Ohio of the People's Freight Railroad Company of Pennsylvania gathered delegates from New Jersey Pennsylvania Indiana and Illinois to promote an Atlantic Coast to Mississippi River cheap railroad. OT B Curti was elected president with a five member committee to set business and restri ctions. A certificate of incorporation for the Ohio company was signed and plans to consolidate five companies into a single People's Freight Railway Company were approved. Lowe Chas S Suite named chief engineer for preliminary surveys with offices in Pittsburgh. The convention adjourned to reconvene on central committee call.
