It traces bones sinews nerves and lungs and then probes memory imagination and reason, arguing the mind’s vast reach and immortality, followed by social tales of Chavari customs and a comic vignette on a ventriloquist friend and a lovers plot surrounding Miss Eliza Ayers and Benson amid Pell the uncle’s will dispute.
The September 20 1638 gathering in Springfield brought over two thousand citizens to Porky's Grove for a Whig and Conservative barbecue celebrating sound principles in the third Congressional district. The procession formed near Capt. Raysen’s hotel and marched through town to a long banquet with speeches praising the Constitution and party leaders including John M. Stuart and William May.
