A Lake Shore and Southern passenger train collided with a freight train in the yard injuring engineer Ispia Guanine and slightly hurting engineer and fireman W. Bryan. The engine and baggage car were demolished, and three sleepers and five coaches were damaged as passengers and crew tried to save the rest. none of the passengers were hurt besides minor injuries.

A dispatch from Edwardsville says an express train on the C and A railway ran into the rear of an extra freight train. The incident occurred near St Louis with injuries and possible delays. Further details were not immediately available.
