Londoners gathered on October 3 as a giant Zeppelin destroyed in Sunday night’s raid plunged earthward in flames. A survivor, the commander, was found badly injured in a field. thirteen bodies were recovered and German airmen scattered or presumed lost amid the wreckage.

Women were attacked and followers were reported to be many, with Carranza forces retreating.
President Wilson's campaign program up to election day was set at a conference with Vance C. McCormick. Henry Ford and Secretary McAdoo joined, with Wilson to speak in Omaha Indianapolis St Louis Chicago and Cincinnati between October 5 and 26, plus an address at Shadow Lawn on October 28. Willam Ter Williger, 86, an Aurora teamster, shot and killed his 20 year old wife May 14 in Batavia TiL after she refused to return home. He pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 14 years in the penitentiary on Monday.
Albany Oct 3 Attorney General Woodbury ordered a sweeping milk price inquiry to seek a remedy. Deputy AG Merton E Lewis to run the probe and a non partisan referee will be sought to take testimony. The action follows complaints by milk dealers and farmers of conspiracies in restraint of trade under the Donnelly act with penalties of up to 5000 dollars and possible imprisonment. In New York City a milk shortage sparked by the dispute between dairymen and distributors prompted the health commissioner to insist on strict quality inspections despite the shortage. He noted about 75 percent of normal supply reached the city and warned the deficit could worsen this week, though distributors aimed to maintain 30 percent of normal supply.
