Collision In Harbor Cripples One Vessel
NEW YORK, Nov. 30. The steam er Atlantic, carrying a long list of distinguished passengers to Cherbourg and Southampton, collided with the steamship St. Michael off the Statue of Liberty while moving down the harbor. The St. Michael’s stern was badly damaged below the water line and is leaking but not in serious danger. The British freight steamship St. Michael, in collision with the Adriatic, cleared with a general cargo for Macao and Pernambuco. Her displacement is 3,796 gross tons. Captain F. C. B Harris, superintendent of Booth Line, said a wireless message from the vessel stated she was not seriously damaged. Shortly after midnight the Adriatic hauled up her anchor and began again for Liverpool.
