Chicago plans 200000 marchers for a May 27 event divided into two parades to ease movement. Major General Young will lead the night parade with flood lights and searchlights lighting the route through the fineness district as Samuel Insull calls it the brightest night Chicago has known. Streetcars will be rerouted from the loop with business resuming June 3.
Waukegan IL May 27 Hope to secure a jury for Will H Orpet trial appeared bright as the court told the attorneys to prepare for a third panel by Saturday. The second panel was sworn just before noon with openings for 11 jurors from 601 veniremen examined. Judge Donnelly sustained an objection to a mother entering court and kissing her son. An affidavit from Mrs Mary Merwin claimed her family believed Orpet guilty.
Ignatious Lincoln a self-styled German spy was taken from Raymond Street Jail in Brooklyn by Scotland Yard detectives. He was boarded on the An or Line Steamship Cameronia, scheduled to sail today for Liverpool.
The Monroe City News owner Wil ams and partner A L Doyle sold the Torchlight of Shelbina to John Cox on Friday. Cox previously worked with the Shelbina Democrat and has run the Monroe City News for the past fifteen years.
The Chicago Burlington and Quincy railroad began improvement work costing about 2000 dollars. The chief engineer announced Friday that most of the work will occur in Wyoming with the project centered in the Denver area.

G A Tipton reports being held up by three men in front of the Henry Dayton residence on East Maine street about 10 o clock Friday night. They demanded halt and took a gold watch from him. A second item notes a steamer Black Hawk to operate between Burlington and Davenport on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays connecting with the Keokuk.
French officials report no new positional changes near Verdun despite renewed German attempts to breach fort approaches after their recapture of Fort Douaumont. Paris says the assault was repulsed with heavy German casualties while artillery fire remains high across sectors including Avecourt and Hill 304.
Probation Officer Thomas Nolan reports two missing Weigman children aged nine and five from 412 South Fifth Street.
