Solons May Be Paid For Trips Home
Springfield May 24 The house declined to take from its utility committee the Mulcahy full switching crew bill, charged as being smothered in the committee. By a 62 to 51 vote the house refused to concur in the judiciary committee report to kill Rep Lee O Neil Brown's bill for ten cents a mile to legislators for each weekend home during sessions. The bill was placed on the calendar amid telegrams from organized labor urging to move the senate bill to curb injunctions in labor disputes. Consideration was postponed to print amendments. The senate passed the house bill to fund agricultural state institutions, including 192 280 for the state board of agriculture, 10000 to the Illinois state horticultural association, and 53100 to the Illinois farmers institute and county institutes. A bill by Senator Barr on election precincts was also noted.
