Dallas Texas May 20 The 129th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States considers a Boston Presbytery resolution to provide financial aid to ministers unable to continue work due to disability regardless of age or years of service. Current relief applies to pastors with 18 or more years or age 70. The assembly also opposed Sunday newspapers and amusements and Sunday use of public school buildings. Overtures on a North South church reunion were referred to a committee for next week report.
Washington May 20 The administration's initial war budget rose to 3 342 300 000 with 750 000 000 for the merchant fleet program. It passed the Senate without a roll call and goes to conference for final action before President Wilson's signature. Major funds cover army pay equipment fortifications munitions and the navy and marine corps.
New York May 20 The Liberty Loan effort will use the airplane foreign language newspaper political club insurance underwriters and bond salesman as media for public education next week The Aero Club of America with thirty branches plans a nationwide aerial campaign including a transcontinental race from New York to San Francisco to promote the loan.
Miss Bertha Hasselman, missing since last Friday night from her Dixon home, was found dead in Rock River near Dixon. Coroner's jury returned a verdict of death by own action from drowning.

May 20 Pike County reports Prof. P O Main received a letter from his uncle Fred Main born in Time, St. who left Pike county ten years ago and was legally dead in Pse county. He went to Calcutta and for four years served as a captain in the British navy. His ship was torpedoed in the first year of the war and he now rests in a British naval hospital recovering from exposure illness.
