Springfield etc May 18 final attempts to amend the new fish and game code were defeated in the kenat as the bill revising present laws advanced to third reading. Senator Daily of Peoria led the fight for river fishermen with an amendment to keep seines at 1,000 feet. his bid failed. The bill moved forward after amendments to strike mourning doves from game birds and cut rabbit closed season and prairie chicken open days.
