Sunday Closing Ordinances Are Not Probable
Aldermen of Quincey oppose the petition of grocery and meat dealers seeking Sunday closures. The council referred the matter to the corporation counsel for opinion, with Attorney Bartlett expected to say such an ordinance would be invalid. Many urge closure by association agreement rather than council action. The article notes Tungsten’s recent general use and cites a 1781 Spanish treatise.
