Government Engineers Inspect Marion County Pumping Plant Near Mark
A survey near Mark station by C. W. Oker and Dan S. Hemmock of the Department of Agriculture, with Perkins Engineering, reviewed the Marion county drainage district pumping plant and levees. They noted stark contrasts inside and outside the levees and that floodwaters extended 10 miles to La Grange. The plant runs on electric power from Keokuk via a submarine cable.
