County Clerks Decide On Women Ballots In Illinois Primaries

Springfield March 30 Women may vote at the April presidential primary only as a straw tally if counties choose to prepare ballots. Attorney General Brundage says such ballots would not be legal and would not count, while the law remains that women are not qualified electors for presidential nomination. County clerks may issue women ballots if they assume responsibility, but votes would be nonbinding.
