Marion County road work awaits legislature action on bills
The Marion County court pauses plans to modernize the Hannibal to Monroe City gravel road while state lawmakers consider highway improvement bills. Officials estimate 18 miles of roadwork at about 4000 dollars per mile, with state aid of roughly 1200 per mile if matched by the county, plus federal support and local subscriptions. Additional repairs are planned near Cherry Dell Palmyra Taylor and the Palmyra to Philadelphia rock road, with funding likely next year.
