Burlington Vermont March 9. Near Beachman's Corner three frozen bodies were found Mrs Emmons sixty years old her daughter and grandson. The old woman fell a half mile from the house after wandering in a snow drift the light from the house window visible all night the daughter moved closer and the boy dragged himself a short distance toward the window before succumbing to cold.

In Somerville Massachusetts two women contested a prize bout under ring rules that allowed hair pulling and biting. Sarah Chapman fled early but was forced back and ultimately won after twenty one rounds with Mallie Jones. Prize money of fifty dollars awarded to Chapman.
Dispatches report a violent storm last night across the country. The Woolen Manufacturing Association of the Northwest will hold its second annual meeting at Tremont House on Wednesday March 21. Several topics important to manufacturers will be discussed. A Cincinnati dry goods merchants committee urged the next annual exposition be held there.
