Leaton Irwin notes the influx will relieve a strained supply, while highlighting Detroit delays and Toledo as a major auto shipping hub with twenty one railroad lines feeding the city.
D. D. Lewers and F. H. Dunsford of Winnipeg drove a Cadillac Eight from Moose Jaw to Winnipeg through weather that dropped to 87 degrees below zero with drifting snow. The 476 mile trip took 26 hours, bucking drifts higher than the radiator at times. Final stretch from Poplar Point to Winnipeg was drifted, but the car navigated the hazards safely despite skepticism from locals.
