John Boland Injured On Merry Go Round In Palmyra

John Boland, engineer on the Hole merry go round, was hurt Saturday night when the engine belt snapped and struck his knee. He recovered enough to move about Sunday and left with the crew for Lennox Iowa. The week’s festivities concluded with a band concert and speeches as organizers scoured praise for W. H. Scott and Thad R. Smith. A long list of visitors and candidates for local offices joined the jubilee events, including Frank Dosey and John Miller. Mrs Kneisley’s funeral was held at the Baptist church and Greenwood Cemetery. Edward D. Kelley, Kansas City real estate man, was honored at a banquet with a toast by M. Walt. Children of the Christian Sunday school performed an extensive program in the church concluding the week’s events.
