In San Francisco on July 20 the case of Edith O Gorman the escaped nun and her husband Prot Aufrey with private detectives Thomas Aushro and Smith alias Allis was decided. Edith Aafrey caused Ausbro to be jailed for libel, alleging he claimed she was seen drunk and buying whisky at two in the morning. Ausbro returned and had Auffrey charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Smith testified to the assault and to destroy Ediths testimony. she was described as a woman of the town and he a sheep thief and forger. Judge Sanderbsch discharged Autrey and sent Ausbro to trial for libel, while Smith alias Allis was ordered to custody for perjury.
