Shippers Expect Class Rate Rise Across Official Territory
Quincy shippers will feel an advance in class rates after the Interstate Commerce Commission approved higher rates in official classification territory from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic seaboard north of the Ohio and Potomac rivers. The bulletin lists revised New York to Chicago and Quincy routes, notes five days’ notice, and says western and southern lines face no general increase. The notice also cautions rates may change pending tariff releases.

New home grown potatoes appear in the retail market priced at 75 cents a peck and 2.50 a bushel with grocery men predicting a sharp drop soon.
