CHICAGO Jan. 29 The coalard was put into effect for Chicago consumers Monday the second heatless Monday. We are feeding the coal out now in sugar spoon doses said one large dealer. The reason is that the coal is not in Chicago to be delivered. Other large dealers stated the citys fuel situation is more critical than ever. Because of storms and traffic blockades all coal arriving in the city is being distributed to domestic consumers and industrial plants face further shutdown. Suffering due to coal shortage is increasing in the state with German Valley districts lacking coal and Shannon Carroll county using shade trees as fuel.
