Child Born In Auto Snowbound Near Merrimac
In Nashua on January 23 Merrimac selectmen faced a dilemma over a woman who gave birth after her car stalled in a snow drift on the state highway near Congressman Edward H. Wason’s farm. The mother and infant, seemingly abandoned by the man who registered at the Luton House, will be moved to the county farm if no guardian is found. The man claimed multiple homes and left for Manchester to seek work, while a doctor and others scrambled to reach the birth as heavy snow trapped workers and vehicles.
