Washington February 10 An expert hospital force to care for a million men could be mobilized within days, say Red Cross officials led by acting chairman Eliot Wadsworth. The plan includes 26 base hospital units, 1250 nurses, 599 aides, 413 reserve nurses, 525 reserve aides, 31 navy detachments, 115 local emergency detachments, and a 5000 strong nurse force capable of treating 40,000 sick and wounded at once. The organization asserts it could field 2970 trained Red Cross nurses and potentially 5000 nursing personnel if training respondents join as aides, with a 3 percent casualty rate in early war. No national emergency has found the Red Cross better prepared.

Train Hits Army Truck Kills Two Soldiers in El Paso
