Henry F. Dayton and son Benton Dayton were named as defendants in a $2000 personal injury suit filed in circuit court by Rol la Babcock for Gerhard Keck of 32014 South Fifth Street. Keck alleges a November delivery wagon collision at the Pape Loos company mill shed at Twelfth and Broadway caused a severe scalp wound back injuries and other bruises. The Daytons were driving from the west on Twelfth Street toward the shed when the crash occurred.
All employees of the Quincy Grocery company received a Christmas bonus Monday. J. L. Loebbing, general manager and treasurer, said the yearly gifts would amount to a large sum this year.
The sum and that each employee would be pleased with the amount received. The bonus scales with salary, giving lower paid workers a larger percentage. Many Quincy Grocery staff have served 20 years or more, and Mr Loebbing notes their valued service and a strong tie to the 1917 Christmas season.
Quincy lodge of Masons holds an open installation Friday night at the Masonic temple. More than 300 invitations were issued for the event and dancing and a reception follow the ceremonies.
