Christmas furloughs and camp events at Camp Dodge
Camp Dodge plans two Christmas and New Year furlough classes with home visits for most men. Every soldier will get a Christmas present from the Red Cross, with many Negro troops staying in camp for celebrations. A new Lutheran building is opened at Depot Street for social and religious use, while cold-weather measures protect barracks. Measles and mumps strain the base hospital as censorship rules ease for authorized reporters.
