Pittman drafts separate reservations to League pact
Washington Aug 21 Four reservations on the League of Nations covenant are embodied in a separate Senate resolution by Senator Pittman Democrat of Nevada. The measure mirrors the Wil son suggestion to keep reservations out of the ratification bill and covers withdrawal, Article Ten enforcement, domestic affairs, and the Monroe Doctrine. The McNary Republican group signaled no plan shorter than including reservations in ratification. Pittman moved the resolution for tabling and aims to bring it up later before final treaty action.
