Farmers argue wheat price guarantees hurt profits
Farmers meeting at Adams county farm bureau voice dissatisfaction with the government price support for wheat, saying fixed prices reduce income and storing grain may yield better returns. They foresee less wheat sowing next year and note corn prices look more favorable. Threshing slows due to heavy straw, but corn prospects improve with rainfall. Grain shipments rise as elevators buy what cars allow with wheat mostly No 2 and 3 grades.

Strike at Jacksonville car shops halts Chicago line traffic
In Jacksonville Illinois 200 workers at the Chicago Peoria and St Louis railroad car shops walked off at noon in obedience to union orders. A line of disruption is seen as the strike acts to affect stock feed processing by Italian canneries adding prostomas to seeds.
