Ship Board Cancels Building Contracts
WASHINGTON, April 26. The Shipping Board announced cancellation of wartime shipbuilding contracts for about two million tons of steel ships as it winds down government work in yards nationwide. By end March about 300 ships had been launched but not delivered, while keels for about 500 ships totaling 3,000,000 tons had been laid.
