Do You Make New Friends A Look At Friendship
A 35 or 40 year old woman says she does not make friends easily, prompting a reflection on how relationships with people shape happiness. The piece urges keeping an open mind, staying curious, and continuing to make friends throughout life, warning that a year without new friendships is incomplete. It discusses meeting new people through community, travel, or visits, and cautions against heart hardening with age while encouraging a lively mental life to remain receptive to new friends. It ends with a prompt: how long since you have made new friends.
