Firemen rescued after collapse at No 14 McClelan Alley
At Pe Baltros on April 18 three firemen buried in the ruins of No 14 McClelan Alley were pulled free. Geo Beutz and J W Somers were injured with head and shoulder wounds. Somers badly burned. McBride’s body endured, with neck injuries and other injuries reported. Assistant Chief Eiger and others assisted in the rescue as a large chimney collapsed amid the wreckage.
