Locomotive Train Collision Kills Engine Crew in Fitchburg
An early April 2 accident on the Boston and Fitchburg line near Know Nothing crossing Fitchburg fatally injured the engineer and fireman. A West emigrant train derailed two passenger coaches and a caboose, ejecting cars down an embankment near Promontory at 2 p.m. today.
