Letter to the editor on food stamps and farm subsidies
The writer argues conservatives push limits on food stamps and praises crop insurance subsidies. They cite Stephen Fincher’s 2012 farm subsidies, compare SNAP averages in Tennessee, and claim direct payments were replaced by crop insurance that may encourage risky farming and offshore insurer subsidies. The piece links unemployment, deregulation, and top earners to SNAP growth, and ends noting no one should go hungry.
