Quay County Hospital Tax Vote Heads to Early, General Ballots
Voters in Quay County face extending a special gross receipts tax for Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital. The tax, in place since 1987, raises about $200,000 annually for operations, maintenance, remodeling and new clinics at the 25 bed Tucumcari facility. If approved, the tax would run Jan. 1, 2010 through Dec. 31, 2019, with early voting ending Friday and the general election Tuesday. Polling places are listed across precincts in House, Forrest, San Jon, Nara Visa, Logan and Tucumcari with absentee and early voting centers at the Quay County Courthouse and Tucumcari Convention Center.
