Clovis Walmart Fire Injures No One. Store Close Pending Investigation
Around 3:36 a.m. Sunday a large blaze at the Clovis Walmart involved about 50 overnight workers with 400 total employees at the store. Authorities say the building suffered significant damage with a roof collapse and will remain closed while fire investigators assess the scene. No injuries were reported.

THS Provides Counselors as Grief Continues at Tucumcari High
Tucumcari Public Schools brought in several counselors for grieving students last week. Principal Nicole Bright-Lesly said two will remain this week with an open door policy to support healing. She recalled Javion as a kind, hold-the-door student who will be missed. This is the second student death at Tucumari High in under a year following Jayden Gloms's January accident at Five Mile Park.

Runners eye Amarillo meet with team scoring tallies
Sammy Fuentes of Clovis led the boys varsity race in 17 26.18 as Hobbs won the boys event with 41 points and Clovis 85. Tucumcari placed seventh with 172 points. Hereford took third with 90. In girls action Mikayla Klinger of Tucumcari finished 37th, Gabrielle Foggie of Clovis won in 21 31.02 and Clovis claimed the girls team title with 24 points.
