The Tucumcari Annual Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce invite the public to an air show this Wednesday at Tucumcari Municipal Airport. Attendees will see civilian and possibly military aircraft on display and performances.
Tucumcari Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce held an airshow for Quay County youth. Bob McClelland Jr. praised the event as pretty good despite wet weather and breezes. Crowd enjoyed stunt flying by Scott Lane and John Melby and witnessed a Bearcat versus Zero dog fight.
A Logan Schools parent Shayne McSmith raises worries about a GoKnow smart phone program issued to students. He cites unrestricted access and a camera in locker rooms, plus apps displaying sexual content, while Superintendent Richard Hazen notes initial issues and confirms phones lack calling or texting functions.
The 5-2 Tucumcari Rattlers travel to face 1-6 Clayton Yellow Jackets at 7 p.m. Friday. Coach Wayne Ferguson notes tough schedule and readiness as district openers loom. Longhorns host Foothill at 2 p.m. with improving offense and momentum from two recent wins.
