Farm day highlights recycling at Tucumcari science center
Fourth and fifth graders at the New Mexico Agricultural Science Center in Tucumcari learned about recycling and agriculture during a farm day program funded by NMSU leaders and state history grants. Speakers explained composting, tree species in Quay County, and how farming sustains food from field to table.

Officials prep voting machines for early voting
County Clerk Ellen White and Danny Wallace certify early and absentee voting machines for the November election. Early voting runs Oct 10 to Nov 3, weekdays 8am to 5pm, with one Saturday 10am to 6pm. Voter guides cover five amendments and three bond questions. precincts 6–12 vote at the Convention Center and straight ticket is not offered this year.
