Tucumcari approves a LEDA project trading 220000 in water and utility services to Love's Hospitality for a 10 inch water main from Rock Island Street to Mountain Road. The line will enable Fairfield Inn expansion near Mountain Road and I 40, replacing a 6 inch line and costed over 713000 to build.
Timothy TJ O'Quinn, 34, named by Gov. Susana Martinez to fill the Quay County Magistrate Court vacancy left by Joe Garnett. He starts Nov. 28 and says his father remains practicing law. He plans to reassign cases and adapt to judicial conduct standards.
Justin Fisher, 28, was arrested Friday and charged with battery on a peace officer after an incident at K-Bob's restaurant in Tucumcari. Officer Christopher Valdez was wounded. Fisher was later charged with a fourth degree felony and held on a $5,000 cash bond at Quay County Detention Center.
