Portales woman in critical condition after Ute Lake boating accident
Shaina Pool, 22, of Portales, remains in critical condition at an Amarillo hospital after a boating accident Sunday on Ute Lake in Logan. Police say nine passengers were aboard when the boat sharply turned, Pool fell in and was struck by the vessel. Authorities investigate for possible law violations. A prayer vigil for Pool, organized by Rebecca Martinez Holt, drew about 45 attendees at Marshall Middle School.
