Queen of Rockabilly Wanda Jackson to headline Tucumcari festival
The 2013 Rockabilly on the Route festival runs June 7 8 and 9 at the Tucumcari Convention Center to raise funds for the planned New Mexico Route 66 Museum. Wanda Jackson headlines with Whiskey Kiss backing. the band and others perform at Lizard Lounge and on festival stages through the weekend. Proceeds support the museum project.

June events run June 7 at Tucumcari venues with live music, parades, car shows and radio remotes. Highlights include Cruisin Live Remote from 4 to 6 pm, Wheels On 66 Classic Car Show 11 am to 4 pm, Beauty and The Beat Pin Up contest at 2 to 2:30 pm, and late night headlines with Wanda Jackson and The Shadow Men. Proceeds benefit New Mexico Route 66 Museum. Tickets range from 1 to 30 dollars with various venue passes. Sponsors include NAPA Auto Parts, Dos Lunas Tequila, Tucumcari Chamber of Commerce, and New Mexico Route 66 Association.
