Recall petitions target Tucumcari city commissioners

Recall petitions were filed against Amy Gutierrez and Rick Haymaker per City Clerk Angelica Gray. Petition forms, ordered by Gary Southern, were issued May 14 for Gutierrez and Tuesday for Haymaker. Gutierrez was appointed in February to fill Jimmy Sandoval’s term. Haymaker was sworn in May 8 to replace Dora Salinas McTigue. Haymaker questions recall costs and urges city unity to attract business.
