Contrasts Abound on a Caprock Day Trip to Eastern New Mexico
Karl Terry recalls a northern Caprock excursion from Clovis to Norton and Field. He notes blue skies offset by clouds, green wheat beside red rock, wind turbines replacing old mills, a shuttered Caprock Amphitheater, overflowing trash at an overlook, and relics like a Gleaner combine near Hollene Cemetery. He reflects on the echoes of past and present landscapes in New Mexico.
