Mesalands Board Approves 11.1 Million Budget
Mesalands Community College board approves the 2013-2014 budget of 11.1 million dollars at a special meeting. They also adjust the revised 2012-2013 budget from 10,509,514 to 10,426,531 and cancel two Ambitions Consulting Group contracts totaling 60,000 dollars effective May 1.

Tucumcari Firefighters Honor West Texas First Responders
Tucumcari firefighters including Gordon Runner Ed Shipley and Mark Martinez placed about 50 flags around the town to honor the first responders who died in the West Texas fertilizer plant blast. The effort supports families and coworkers of the 10 fallen firefighters with funds aiding a Tucumcari Firefighters Association fund via $25 yearly donations.
