Tucumcari Generating Station Dedicated With Ceremony

The Tucumcari Generating Station was officially dedicated Friday with a ceremony and luncheon. About 100 invited guests including Xcel Energy executives and local leaders attended to mark a $20 million installation designed to generate up to 23 megawatts and to be remotely controlled from the Nichols Generating Station near Amarillo if needed.

Quay County GRT climbs slightly above prior year totals

Quay County reports fiscal year 2013 gross receipts taxes exceed 1.8 million dollars, about 5 percent higher than 2012 but 8 percent below the five year average. Construction and retail sectors drive gains while overall declines since 2009 narrow. Accommodations and food service rise to over 260 thousand dollars in 2013.
