Quay County held its largest tax delinquent property auction in a decade on June 14, selling 20 of 58 tracts for a little over 5 000 dollars and adding 8 700 in fees to the state. The Quay County Health Council won an $85,000 grant from the New Mexico Department of Health Better Together program to engage high school youth and families in identifying misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines on social media. Presbyterian Healthcare Services also received $200,000 to train personal service providers as ambassadors for vaccine information. The DOH awarded nearly $3.5 million to 12 groups to support vaccine equity and inclusive messaging across New Mexico.
Quay County reported eight new coronavirus cases last week with all infections in Tucumcari or Logan. The county death toll remained 58, and statewide cases rose by 1 277 with hospitalizations up, as the Amarillo metro region saw rising active cases.
