A Friday blaze caused a complete Tucumcari power outage from just before 9 a.m. until restoration began after 2:30 p.m. Officials cited undetermined causes for the wildfires and thanked volunteers, with a separate grassfire near San Jon closing State Highway 469 for about 30 minutes.
Central dispatch logs from Tucumcari Police include hotel disturbance on West Route 66, domestic disputes at S Mountain Road fuel station and South Ninth Street, vehicle burglaries on East Hancock Avenue and East Smith Avenue, thefts at several blocks, and multiple warrants. Incidents span 2:45 p.m. to 12:14 a.m. with arrests at West Route 66 and corner of South Monroe/East Hancock.
